Prince of Peace/ Principe de Paz 2024-25 Confirmation Registration

Confirmation Ministry is the opportunity for students to learn and review the Six Chief Parts of the Christian faith- The 10 Commandments, The Lord's Prayer, The Apostles Creed, The Lord's Supper (Communion), Baptism and Confession. We use Luther's Small Catechism- a Biblical explanation of the Six Chief Parts, a companion workbook and the Bible (English Standard Version). All class materials are free. Materials must be picked up at the church office prior to the class beginning on Wednesday, September 11. All classes will take place on Zoom from 6:30-7:30 on select Wednesday evenings. There will be about 2 classes per month- depending on the church calendar. A full Confirmation class schedule will be sent to each family after they register for classes. In addition, we will have 3 sessions ( one in October, one in February and one in April) where we meet together on a Saturday morning in person and on campus. These are important meetings and are required to complete Confirmation. Please let Eric know as soon as possible if you have a conflict arise on one of these dates. Homework in the student workbook and other work will be assigned between classes. A full homework schedule will be sent to each student/family upon registration. The homework is not excessive and should take less than an hour each time.
Confirmation is a one year program (September - May) with the student participating in the Rite of Confirmation upon completion of the course in May. The Rite of Confirmation is currently scheduled for Mother's Day in 2025- May 11. The class will vote to determine which worship service we will hold the Rite of Confirmation in. There will also be a Dessert Reception on Saturday, May 10th where families and friends will gather to celebrate our Confirmation students and hear from them about what thety have learned and what their Confirmation means to them.
